“Day of the Chacala,” at the Tecámac Convention Center in the State of Mexico, where Estrella Valverde became World Boxing Council International Super Flyweight champion, defeating Carolina Arias from Costa Rica, by unanimous decision.
“Chacala” took firm and tempered control of the fight from the beginning, but “Princess” Arias fought bravely, showing her grit and kept it competitive and relatively close.
Valverde showed her best boxing skills to win with scores of 95-94, 95-94 and 96-93, conquering the vacant International WBC title.
The next goal of the “Chacala” is to net a shot at the WBC world title that’s held by Guadalupe Martinez.
