Two great WBC world champions Yessica “Kika” Chavez and Esmeralda “Joya” Moreno collide on September 30, with the WBC Diamond crown up for grabs in the flyweight division.
Friends outside fight time, Kika smiled brightly and broadly waving to Joya, who was a touch tardy to WBC weekly pow wow.
Not short of praise, Esmeralda Moreno says: “Yessica is a great boxer, who has a smart jab, a stylist that will make me work a lot. I feel motivated and ready for this rematch, but especially to conquer the Diamond crown, I owe it to my fans , my team and especially to my daughter, the motor of my life.”
Yessica Chavez: ” I’m convinced that this will not be a tough fight but a stylist match. My mental preparation and experience will control the match. I am a woman who welcomes challenges and this is without a doubt one of the most important of my career. Accordingly I’m in the best shape of my life, I feel motivated and happy, so I am sure that I will take the WBC Diamond title home.”
Knowing that this fight is a guarantee of spectacle, both champions promised to offer their absolute all. They were emphatic in saying that this meeting is also for honor and pride, simultaneously stressing that still very modest purses in woman’s boxing, certainly don’t properly reflect or reward the professionalism, effort and fighting spirit there for all to see!
