Mexican Pedro Guevara will have a brand new title opportunity on October 22 when he goes to Japan to challenge local idol and current WBC light flyweight champion, Ken Shiro,
Shiro won the title by defeating Ganigan López on May 20 of this year via majority decision, in what was a very close fight.
Pedro Guevara was the division world champion from 2014 to 2015. Japanese boxer Yu Kimura snatched the crown from him on January 28, 2015 and later, Mexican Ganigan Lopez defeated Kimura in his first title defense.
In this way, the title has gone through Mexican and Japanese hands. Pedro Guevara pledged he’s ready to put an end to this cycle and recover the WBC light flyweight belt once and for all.
