Fans of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, were glued to the big screen at the Kazakstan Embassy in Mexico, toasting a fabulous fight and making Mexico`s Independence Day Celebrations with a giant cake in the shape of a sombrero sporting the number two hundred and seven, serenaded by a Mariachi band.

Ambassador Andrian Yelemessov led the singing of the Kazak and the Mexican National Anthems. Guest of honor was all time boxing great Lupe Pintor, who was WBC bantamweight champion successfully defending his title eight times. Lupe said that although it was a close and competitive fight, he didn`t see it as a draw. In his opinion Gennady won the fight, as Canelo had left it too late to start opening up and really letting his punches go.

The Ambassador true to diplomatic form congratulated both Gennady and Saul on a tremendous fight saying that both had shown power, determination and courage. Seizing the moment he said Kazakstan would be more than delighted to host the inevitable rematch, with open arms and great joy. Mexican and Kazak fight fans hugged and celebrated, quaffing beer and tequila.
