At the traditional World Boxing Council weekly conference , WBC super flyweight champion Lupita Martínez alongside her daughter and son, chatted about the successful defense of her crown on September 30 at the Oasis Arena in Cancun, Quintana Roo.
That night Lupita prevailed by TKO in one minute 15 seconds of the ninth round, over Carlota Santos, giving the public a great and intense, non stop boxing showcase.
Lupita conquered the crown after defeating the experienced and powerful Zulina Muñoz in a two and fro, in a give and take war of attrition slugfest, thanked her team who’ve worked so hard to get her into top shape, assuring her success.
Aware that many upcoming fighters want to take the title from her, Lupita says she is more than ready to face and confront the best of the division. She even said that that Irma Garcia wants to fight in December and she herself is interested, but without a contract signature there will be no fight.
Lupita thanked WBC President Mr. Mauricio Sulaimán, for the opportunity and confidence in her green and gold belt triumph.
