Wilder: I’ve seen a lot I can exploit in Joshua

Deontay Wilder says Anthony Joshua will fold once he gets tired.

WBC heavyweight titlist Deontay Wilder will be defending his belt this weekend against Bermane Stiverne, but the fight he’s really looking forward to is a unification with Anthony Joshua. And looking ahead to that potential showdown, Wilder says he sees Joshua fatiguing in their fight, something he’ll look to capitalize on.

“(Joshua) will show courage until he runs out of gas, then it’s life and death for him,” said Wilder to PBC’s Lem Satterfield.

“Once he’s tired, I see him giving up. Once that happens, I’m going to turn up the heat on him and it’s a wrap. They may throw in the towel.”

Wilder also mentions that he sees holes in Joshua’s game and that he’ll take advantage of them, though he wouldn’t immediately reveal what those were (aside from stamina).

“I’ve seen a lot I can exploit in Joshua that I’ll keep it to myself, but he ain’t ready for me.”

Should Wilder successfully defend his title this weekend it’s looking like he’ll be lined up with Dillian Whyte, which would serve as a prelude to an eventual showdown with Joshua. Wilder, who initially balked at a Whyte fight, has since said he’ll be willing to take the fight so long as he’s guaranteed a shot at Joshua afterwards.
