UFC champion Amanda Nunes makes the Forbes 30 Under 30 sports list

A UFC champion took home a pretty significant honor this week.

Amanda Nunes, who holds the UFC women’s bantamweight title, made the Forbes list of 30 Under 30 in the sports category. The set of athletes was dubbed “winning on and off the field.”

Joining Nunes on the list was the likes of boxing star Canelo Alvarez, World Series hero Jose Altuve and NFL quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Nunes blurb mentions her 48-second knockout of Ronda Rousey last December and her being the first openly gay champion in UFC history, as well as her endorsement with TEN spring water.

Nunes, 29, is coming off a split decision victory over Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 215 in September. She has reeled off six straight victories, including first-round stoppages over Rousey and Miesha Tate. Nunes (15-4), a Brazil native, trains out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla.
