Cat Zingano’s long-awaited return to the Octagon will take place in March.
The former UFC bantamweight contender is slated to face undefeated Ketlen Vieira at the UFC 222 pay-per-view card at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on March 3, sources confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by MMA Brasil.
Zingano (9-2) hasn’t competed since July 2016, when she lost to Julianna Pena at UFC 200. That was “Alpha’s” first bout since losing to then-champion Ronda Rousey in 14 seconds. Zingano’s last win took place in Sept. 2014 in Las Vegas, when she finished future 135-pound queen Amanda Nunes.
Vieira (9-0) has won three in a row since joining the UFC in 2016. The Nova Uniao talent recently submitted former UFC title contender Sara McMann at UFC 215 after winning back-to-back decisions against Ashlee Evans-Smith and Kelly Faszholz.
