Middleweights Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith will meet at UFC Belem in February.
A pair of middleweights have been added to the UFC’s first Brazilian card of 2018, as Combatereported Thiago Santos will take on Anthony Smith, in the UFC’s first trip to the city of Belem, in the Northern region of Brazil.
Looking to make it four wins in a row against Smith, Thiago Santos (16-5) holds KO wins over the likes of Jack Marshman, Gerald Meerschaert and Jack Hermansson in his last three outings. The win streak snapped a two-fight losing skid when Santos suffered losses to Gegard Mousasi and Eric Spicely.
Anthony Smith (28-12) also finds himself on a three-fight winning streak, with KO wins over Elvis Mutapcic, Andrew Sanchez and most recently Hector Lombard. During this UFC stint, Smith has suffered only one loss, to Cezar Ferreira, in July 2016.
UFC Fight Night 125 will happen on Saturday, February 3rd and the card will air live on FS1. No main event has been established as of yet.
