Ricardo Lamas finally has an opponent for Dec. 16.
The UFC has booked Lamas vs. Josh Emmett for next month’s UFC on FOX 26 card in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, MMA Fighting confirmed. Farah Hannoun first reported the news.
Lamas was originally scheduled to fight Jose Aldo on the card, however, Aldo was moved to this weekend’s UFC 218 main event versus Max Holloway after Frankie Edgar, Holloway’s original opponent, got injured.
Lamas (18-5) has won his last two fights in a row, while Emmett (12-1) recently got back on track with a victory following the lone professional loss of his career. Without a doubt, this fight represents the biggest of Emmett’s career.
The event, which will mark the promotion’s second in Winnipeg, will be headlined by Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael dos Anjos.
