Fight To Win Pro is quickly cementing itself as the promotion to watch for competitive grappling matches featuring some of the best athletes in the sport. On Saturday, August 13 the promotion takes a turn to charity to present its Submit Cancer event that features matches between grapplers that mixed martial arts fans will recognize.
The headliner of the night features a battle between Eliot Marshall against Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida. Almeida is a multiple time world champion, and considered to be amongst the best – if not the best – grappler in the world today. Marshall is a retired MMA fighter that reached the UFC on two different occasions; putting together a record of 10-4 (3-3 UFC).
The co-main event features two former champions that mainstream and hardcore MMA fans enjoy. Former StrikeForce champion, Jake Shields, is set to compete against former UFC champion, Lyoto Machida. Shields and Machida are regarded as two dangerous grapplers in the MMA community and this bout leans on their star power.
UFC welterweight Neil Magny is scheduled to compete in an exhibition match against the CEO of event partner Muscle Pharm. TUF vet Gilbert Smith will also compete, and Bruce Buffer will serve as the event announcer.
Submit Cancer will be held at the Muscle Pharm headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
