Tim Elliott will fight again in 2017 after all.

After his UFC on FOX 26 bout against Pietro Menga fell through the day before the event, Elliott has been re-booked to fight against UFC newcomer and top bantamweight prospect Mark De La Rosa on Dec. 30 at UFC 219. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani confirmed the booking Tuesday following an initial report by MMA DNA.

Elliott was left in limbo last week in Winnipeg after Menga failed to weigh in for UFC on FOX 26. Menga experienced kidney problems while attempting to cut down to the flyweight limit, eventually reaching 131 pounds before being transported to the hospital. Elliott, who successfully weighed in at 125 pounds, declined to meet Menga at the much higher catchweight. Elliott was ultimately paid his show purse by the UFC.

He’ll now meet Octagon newcomer De La Rosa (9-0) on short notice at UFC 219.

The husband of UFC women’s flyweight contender Montana De La Rosa, “The Bumblebee” is a highly-regarded bantamweight prospect fighting out of Texas. The 23-year-old De La Rosa has finished six of his nine professional victories by stoppage, highlighted by back-to-back submissions inside the Combate cage in 2017.

Elliott (14-8-1), meanwhile, looks to rebound after suffering a 49-second loss to Ben Nguyen in his most recent UFC outing.

A 30-year-old former Titan FC champion, Elliott went five rounds in a valiant but losing effort against flyweight king Demetrious Johnson in Dec. 2016 after earning his way back into the UFC by winning The Ultimate Fighter 24. Elliott also picked up a unanimous decision win overLouis Smolka this past summer at UFC on FOX 24.

UFC 219 takes place Dec. 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. An updated fight card can be seen below.
