Adrien Broner returns to the ring after his defeat last year against Mikey Garcia, taking on the tough former WBC champion, Omar “Panterita” Figueroa, on April 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with live broadcast on Showtime.
Broner (33-3, 24 KO) has had a brilliant yet erratic career of ups and downs since he suffered his first defeat against Marcos Maidana in 2013, But he remains a quality boxer. He fought a couple of times in 2017, defeating Adrian Granados and then against Garcia.
Rugged Figueroa (27-0-1, 19 KO) is a former WBC lightweight champion, and although he has not been very active, he is always offers big shows displaying his aggressive style. Last year he defeated a brave Robert Guerrero, knocking him out in three rounds.
