MORE THAN 100 BOXERS IN VISAYAS PRELIMS OF PSC-PACQUIAO CUP

BAGO CITY (Feb. 3) – More than 100 boxers are seeing action in the Visayas Preliminaries of the PSC-Pacquiao Amateur Boxing Cup at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Sports Center here.

As of press time, 10 bouts are scheduled to start at 3 p.m. according to supervising tournament director Rogelio Fortaleza of the Philippine Sports Institute.

Five pairs are slated all in the Junior Boys Pinweight (44-46 kg.), three in the Jr. Boys Flyweight (50 kg.) and one each in the Jr. Boys Light Flyweight (48 kg.) and Light bantamweight (52 kg.).

A total of 17 teams are joining the two-day event hosted by Bago City under City Mayor Nicholas Yulo.

The teams are Bago, Bayawan City, Calbayog City, Cadiz City, Cebu City, Don Salvador Benedicto, Escalante City, Himamaylan City, La Carlota City, Leyte Province, Maasin City, Murcia, San Carlos City, Sipalay City, Talisay City, Victorias City and Mandaue-Omega.
