Turkish super middleweight Avni Yildirim (17-1-0, 11 KO’s) fights experienced American Derek Edwards (27-7-1, KO’s) at Sartory Saale, Cologne, Germany, with the International World Boxing Council super middleweight title at stake.
Yildirim is coming off an impressive third round knockout of Attila Korda, in a fight held in Germany, at the end of 2017.
For his part, Edwards comes from winning a wide decision victory over Lolenga Mock, on April 7 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Edwards, who has faced great rivals like Badou Jack, Erik Skoglund, Gilberto Ramirez and Andre Dirrell, said: “I am preparing for March 3 with great intensity. I will take the WBC International belt with me to the United States.”
Yildirim countered: “I want to be in the forefront of the boxing world. The WBC is the most prestigious organization in the sport by far, and my dream is still to win the WBC’s Green and Gold World title. I have to defeat Edwards. ”
