Two of this upcoming spring’s biggest fights now have venues, albeit with different degrees of finality. The April 7th super welterweight unifier between Erislandy Lara and Jarrett Hurd is “likely headed to StubHub Center,” while May 19th’s light heavyweight battle between Adonis Stevenson and Badou Jack is officially booked for the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Neither event currently has an official undercard bout.
Neither Lara (25-2-2, 14 KO) nor Hurd (21-0, 15 KO) has ever competed in Carson, California’s StubHub Center, although Lara did defeat Alfredo Angulo in it back when it was known as the Home Depot Center. That was arguably Lara’s most entertaining fight, so here’s hoping the mojo works again.
The Bell Centre is familiar territory for Stevenson (29-1, 24 KO), who thrashed Andrzej Fonfara there last time out and will be making his 13th appearance at the venue. Jack (22-1-2, 13 KO) has not competed outside the U.S. since his fifth pro fight in 2010.
