Antonio Orozco has missed weight for big televised opportunities twice in the last year, and now he’s back down the ladder a bit, headed for a March 16 return on Golden Boy’s “LA Fight Club” card from the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles.
ESPN reports that Orozco (26-0, 17 KO) will be off television for his fight, which will be an eight-round bout supposedly at (or at least near) 140 pounds.
Orozco, 30, is a little old to be a prospect anymore, and a little too unreliable to be considered a serious contender at the moment, but he’s a talented fighter, and it’d be better for him to be active than not, if he’s got things together.
He last fought in April 2017, beating KeAndre Gibson by fourth round TKO. His biggest career win came in 2015, when he beat veteran former titleholder Humberto Soto by decision on HBO, the same night Viktor Postol upset Lucas Matthysse.
