EARLY-FAVORITE Mandaluyong City leads the qualifiers with a total of seven boxers going to the Luzon Quarter Finals of the PSC-Pacquiao Amateur Boxing Cup slated on February 17 and 18 at Binan City Town Plaza Proper in Binan, Laguna.
Mandaluyong is bannered by B-Boy Cenita (46-48 kg.), Nicky Boy Oladive (48 kg.), Remart Gomez (52 kg.) and Dave Asi Laurejas (54 kg.) in the Jr. Boys division and Glenn Dumam-ag (46-49 kg.), Nicolas Inocencio (56 kg.) and Ventura Dumaguit (52 kg.) in the Youth Boys category.
Baguio, on the other hand, has six quarter finalists composed of Collin John Bahusan (46-48 kg.), Jordan Pais (48 kg.), Kian Tulas (50 kg.), Tristan Culaling (52 kg.) and Frenzie Allen Golocan (54 kg.) in the Jr. Boys division and John Michael Guinoban (56 kg.) in the Youth Boys.
Prieto Diaz of Sorsogon has five followed by host Binan and Sorsogon Province both with four while Olongapo, Juban, Iriga, Tuguegarao, Bulan and Sorsogon City with identical threes.
Supervising technical director Rogelio Fortaleza of the Philippine Sports Commission’s Philippine Sports Institute (PSC-PSI) said the Luzon Semi-Finals will be held on March 17 in Lingayen, Pangasinan while the Luzon Finals is on April 6 in Baguio City.
