Welterweight veteran Mike Pyle is set to compete again for the first time in over 14 months.
A bout between Pyle and Zak Ottow was recently added to the official event page for UFC 222, which takes place on March 3 at the T-Mobile in Las Vegas, Nev. The matchup was first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal earlier this month.
Pyle last fought at UFC 207 on Dec. 30, 2016, where he lost to Alex Garcia by first-round KO. He is just 2-5 in his past seven fights with all but one of those losses coming by way of knockout. Overall, Pyle is 27-13-1 with a 10-8 UFC record.
Ottow (15-5) has alternated wins and losses since joining the UFC in October 2016. He defeatedJosh Burkman by split decision, then sandwiched another split nod over Kiichi Kunimotobetween losses to Sergio Moraes and Li Jingliang.
UFC 222 will be headlined by women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg defending her title against Octagon newcomer Yana Kunitskaya. In the co-main event, Frankie Edgar takes on short-notice replacement Brian Ortega in a featherweight contest.
