Chris Wade signs with the PFL

Chris Wade is the latest MMA notable to join the ranks of the Professional Fighters League.

Sources confirmed to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani that the 30-year-old lightweight has signed a contract with the PFL to compete in their upcoming 2018 season, which is expected to lead to a playoffs at the end of the year where the best fighters in every division will each compete for a $1 million prize.

Talk of the deal was first reported by ESPN.

Wade (12-3) compiled a 5-2 record in seven appearances for the UFC from 2014-2017, most recently defeating Frankie Perez by unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 25 last July. The following December, Wade revealed that he had become a free agent during an appearance onThe MMA Hour:

In addition to Wade, the PFL (formerly the World Series of Fighting) recently signed another pair of ex-UFC fighters, welterweight Rick Story and lightweight Will Brooks.
