Rio 2016 Olympics boxing live coverage: Day 16 (August 21)

The final day of the Olympics is here, and we’ll round out the boxing with our last four gold medal fights.

It’s the last day of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and with it comes the end of the boxing program, with our last four gold medal matches due up today.

The women’s middleweight fight will start things, with Claressa Shields of the United States going for a second straight gold medal against Nouchka Fontijn of the Netherlands. The two were the 1-2 seeds in the division.

Uzbekistan has two more fighters up for gold today. At men’s flyweight, Shakhobidin Zoirov will take on Russian veteran and 2012 bronze medalist Misha Aloyan, while Fazliddin Gaibnazarov will face Lorenzo Sotomayor of Azerbaijan in the light welterweight final.

And capping things will be the super heavyweights, where top seed Tony Yoka of France takes on Joe Joyce of Great Britain.

Men’s flyweight (52kg) – FINAL

  • 1:15 pm: Shakhobidin Zoirov (Uzbekistan) vs Misha Aloyan (Russia)

  • 2:00 pm: Fazliddin Gaibnazarov (Uzbekistan) vs Lorenzo Sotomayor (Azerbaijan)

Men’s super heavyweight (91+kg) – FINAL

  • 2:15 pm: Tony Yoka (France) vs Joe Joyce (Great Britain)
