Former IBF jr middleweight champion Carlos Molina (27-6-2, 8 KOs), now fighting at jr welterweight, outpointed Carlos Gorham (16-4, 10 KOs) over eight one-sided rounds on Saturday night at the Centro de Convenciones in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico. In a bout that often resembled a sparring session, Molina kept the pace deliberate, blocked most of Gorham’s punches, and methodically outscored Gorham 80-72 on all three cards.
Lightweight Marcos Villasana Jr. (20-6, 12 KOs), the son of former WBC featherweight champion Marcos Villasana, won by tenth round disqualification over previously unbeaten Cristobal Rosekie (12-1, 9 KOs). Villasana dropped Rosekie in round five. Rosekie was deducted a point for a low blow in round eight and disqualified after a low blow in round ten.
