Welterweight Errol Spence Jr. blew out Leonard Bundu in six rounds Sunday afternoon in the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Spence dominated the action early and hurt Bundu with a body shot that dropped him in the sixth. Referee Johnny Callas didn’t call a knockdown but when the action resumed Spence (21-0, 18 KO’s) jumped on Bundu and violently knocked him unconscious along the ropes. No count was issued as the fight was called off at the 2:06 mark of the round. Spence and Bundu (33-2-2, 12 KO’s) were fighting in an IBF welterweight title eliminator for the right to box Kell Brook. Bundu was taken to the hospital after the fight for precautionary reasons.
