David Teymur will put his four-fight UFC win streak on the line when he faces debuting former EFC lightweight champion, Don Madge, at UFC Liverpool.
UFC announced the bout through its social media channels Wednesday, three hours after Madge initially disclosed the bout on his Instagram page.
Teymur (7-1-0) has been unbeaten ever since signing with the promotion on the back of his showing on TUF 22. Poland’s Marcin Wrzosek knocked the Swede out of the competition in the quarterfinals, but he has since been in a rich vein of form.
He scored a first-round knockout over fellow TUF 22 cast member Martin Svensson in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 84 in London before stopping Jason Novelli in the second round of their clash at UFC Fight Night 92 in Salt Lake City. The 28-year-old scored a decision win over Lando Vannata at 209 before edging fellow prospect Drakkar Klose at UFC 218.
Madge (7-3-1) rides a four-fight win streak into his debut. He won the EFC title against Dave Mazany in his last outing back in April 2017 with a second round submission. All of his losses have come against the same opponent, his fellow South African, Leon Mynhardt. All seven of his wins have come by way of stoppage.
