Markus Perez vs. James Bochnovic added to UFC 224

A middleweight bout was added to UFC 224, which takes place in less than three weeks in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. UFC announced on Tuesday that Markus Perez will face James Bochnovic on May 12. Combate first reported the match-up.

Perez (9-1) signed with the promotion in December, taking on Eryk Anders on short notice. The Brazilian middleweight, who joined the company as an undefeated LFA champion, lost via unanimous decision.

Bochnovic (8-2) is also looking for his first victory inside the Octagon after losing to Trevin Gilesin his debut at UFC 213. Bochnovic, who fought once under the Bellator banner in 2017, was riding an eight-fight winning streak going into his first UFC bout.

UFC 224 airs live on pay-per-view and features a bantamweight championship clash between Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington in the main event.
