Former UFC fighter Charlie Ward has signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator.
The promotion confirmed the Irishman’s deal with MMA Fighting on Tuesday.
Ward made his debut under the banner after signing a one-fight deal to clash with fellow Irishman John Redmond at Bellator 187.
After winning the fight in the final second of the first round via TKO, Ward’s close friend and SBG teammate, Conor McGregor, stormed the cage, slapped a Bellator official and confronted referee Marc Goddard before he was asked to leave the enclosure.
Ward is (4-3) set to compete at Bellator 200 in London where he will take on Louis King (1-1). After a successful professional debut, King came up short in his last outing when he was submitted by blue-chip UK prospect Fabian Edwards. SevereMMA.com first reported the fight last month.
