Chad Mendes

Chad Mendes’s first fight in over two years will be against Myles Jury.

The featherweight bout was announced by the UFC on Monday for their upcoming Fight Night event scheduled for the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, on July 14.

Two previously reported bouts were also confirmed, a heavyweight main event between former UFC champion Junior dos Santos and Blagoy Ivanov, and a lightweight bout between contenders Paul Felder and James Vick.

Mendes (17-4) makes his return to competition after serving a two-year USADA suspension for a banned substance that he attributed to a peptide that was included in a psoriasis treatment he was taking. “Money” has thrice competed for a UFC title, two times losing to Jose Aldo, and once to Conor McGregor in an interim affair. The 33-year-old Team Alpha Male product has lost three of his last four bouts.

Jury, 29, recently ended a lengthy layoff of his own, fighting last April after being out of action since December 2015. He has won two straight to improve his UFC record to 8-2 and his overall pro record to 17-2.
