With the August schedule all wrapped up, the next stop for the UFC is Hamburg, Germany on Saturday, September 3rd. Headlining the event is a light heavyweight title fight between global superstar Ilir Latifi and perennial contender Ryan Bader. This could break subscription records on UFC Fight Pass. I hope the Fight Pass servers can handle billions watching all around the world.
Not only is the UFC giving us Latifi’s title defense, but they’ve got two additional matchups post-main event that will intrigue fight fans. Alexander Gustafsson makes his return to the Octagon against Poland’s Jan Blachowicz, while Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett clash in a five-round heavyweight bout. I’m amazed Arlovski and Barnett went this long without EVER fighting each other.
Here’s next week’s fight card:
Main Card (3 PM ET/12 PM PT)
Andrei Arlovski vs. Josh Barnett
Jan Blachowicz vs. Alexander Gustafsson
Ryan Bader vs. Ilir Latifi
Tae Hyun Bang vs. Nick Hein
Preliminary Card (time TBD)
Jessin Ayari vs. Jim Wallhead
Nicolas Dalby vs. Peter Sobotta
Leandro Issa vs. Taylor Lapilus
Christian Colombo vs. Jarjis Danho
Scott Askham vs. Jack Hermansson
Rustam Khabilov vs. Leandro Silva
Martin Buschkamp vs. Alex Enlund
Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Veronica Macedo
