Rusita beats Gonzalez in intense fight

Female super bantamweight Yazmin “Rusita” Rivas (40-9-1, 10 KOs) scored a hard fought ten round split decision over Jessica “La Magnifica” Gonzalez (7-3-1, 1 KO) to win the WBC International belt on Saturday night at the Palenque “Vicente Fernandez” in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico. Scores were 96-94 and 97-94 for Rivas and 96-94 for Gonzalez. “Rusita” avenged a 2013 loss to “Magnifica” and there is already talk of a third match between the two former world champions.
