Super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai won’t be headlining HBO’s September “Superfly 3” card, instead opting to take a non-title stay-busy bout next month at home in Thailand.

Srisaket (45-4-1, 40 KO) burst onto the world scene in 2017, shocking the boxing world with a controversial upset of Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, taking he WBC 115-pound title with the victory.

He’s defended twice, emphatically knocking out Gonzalez in a rematch last September, and winning a majority decision over Juan Francisco Estrada on February 24 of this year.

He’ll face South Korea’s Young Gil Bae (28-6-2, 22 KO) on July 21 in a 10-round, non-title fight at bantamweight in order to stay busy and keep himself in the ring. Gil Bae is a 38-year-old journeyman who hasn’t fought since April 2017, and is 2-2-1 in his last five outings, including a draw last time out.

The fight will be Srisaket’s first at home in Thailand since December 2016.
