The UFC has found a new opponent for Glover Teixeira.
The Brazilian light heavyweight was matched-up against Ilir Latifi in the co-main event of UFC Hamburg on July 22, but needed a new foe after Latifi pulled out with an injury. Anderson quicklyvolunteered on social media and the UFC made it happen, sources confirmed to MMA Fighting after a report from Combate.
Anderson also announced on Instagram that he has signed a new contract with the UFC.
Anderson (10-4) is coming off a decision victory over Patrick Cummins in April, bouncing back from knockout losses to Jimi Manuwa and Ovince Saint Preux in 2017.
Teixeira (27-6), a one-time light heavyweight title contender, hasn’t fought since Dec. 2017, when he beat Misha Cirkunov via first-round TKO in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The UFC Fight Night card will take place at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany, and feature Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Anthony Smith in the main event.
