Neiman Gracie is not going anywhere.
The undefeated welterweight prospect has inked a new longterm contract with Bellator, promotion officials told MMA Fighting on Tuesday.
Gracie (8-0) has won six in a row since joining the Bellator roster in 2015, including five submissions. Gracie last fought in April 2018, submitting Javier Torres in the second round atBellator 198.
Speaking with MMA Fighting prior to his last Bellator appearance, Gracie said he hoped that a win over Torres would take him “to the top” of the welterweight division.
“After this fight, I hope I face one of the top guys to earn a title shot,” Gracie said in April.
”I believe none of them have my level on the ground and that will be the weapon I will use to defeat them when I fight them,” he said of the likes of Paul Daley, Douglas Lima, Andrey Koreshkov andRory MacDonald. “I’m on a level above them on the ground.”
Bellator has yet to announce a date and opponent for Gracie’s next fight.
