Kell Brook, who was scheduled to take on Brandon Cook on the July 28th Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker undercard, has been pulled from the card after suffering an ankle injury during training which will keep him from fighting.

Cook confirmed the news to WBN:

“Apparently, Kell Brook has hurt his ankle, so the fight is off. That means no fight for me and I’m so upset,” an upset Cook exclusively told World Boxing News this weekend.

“This whole thing sucks and I put so much time into training. It’s the worst news ever for me.”

Brook (37-2, 26 KOs) is most recently coming off of a stoppage win over Sergey Rabchenko this past March as he moved up to the junior middleweight division. That fight followed two physically taxing losses to Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence in consecutive fights.

Early speculation suggests that Brook will be ready get back to work some time this fall, possibly around November.
