Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez looks to win a fourth world title as he moves up to face Carlos Cuadras on HBO.
Current pound-for-pound top dog Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez will look to add another world title to his collection, as the former strawweight and junior flyweight and current flyweight champ attempts to take the WBC super flyweight title from Carlos Cuadras.
Live coverage for the doubleheader will begin at 10 pm ET on HBO, and will conclude with a replay of this afternoon’s Golovkin-Brook fight.
Gonzalez (45-0, 38 KO) has been dominant throughout his career, but there has to be at least a little question about him moving up another weight. World titles in four weight classes is still a pretty exclusive club, one which Gonzalez would fit into nicely should he come away victorious.
Cuadras (35-0-1, 27 KO) is no pushover, though. He’s one of the best super flyweights in the world, he’s undefeated, he’s a little bigger than Gonzalez, and put simply, he can fight.
Speaking of fighting, the co-feature will see junior welterweight veterans Yoshihiro Kamegai (26-3-2, 23 KO) and Jesus Soto Karass (28-10-4, 18 KO) look to settle the score after their grueling 10-round draw in April, a savage fight that saw both men absorb inhuman amounts of punishment.
