VENEZUELA’S Nehomar Andrés Cermeño will be making his first title defense of his WBA World super bantamweight title against Anurak “Nop Kratingdaenggym” Thisa of Thailand on September 30 in Wenzhou, China.

Cermeño won the vacant WBA World super bantamweight title via a TKO win against Xiao Jun Qiu last June 24 at the Capital Gym in Beijing, China.

The 36-year old Cermeño is also a former WBA Fedebol featherweight champion, interim WBA World super bantamweight champion and WBA Fedelatin super bantamweight champion.

He has a record of 24 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw with 14 knockouts.

Thisa, on the other hand, is still undefeated with 17 straight wins with five knockouts. He has defended his PABA super bantamweight title 10 times already.

In his last two fights, which were both title-defenses, Thisa stopped Filipino Junar Adante (4th round) and Indonesian Waldo Sabu (6th round) early this year.

The 25-year old Thisa is currently trained by top-caliber Filipino trainer Joven Jorda of Highland Boxing Gym from La Trinidad, Benguet.

“Nop is in good condition and he will be ready to fight,” said Jorda in a text message.

Jorda, who has produced already a lot of world, international and regional champions from different countries has been training Thisa since August.
