WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia (30-0, 25 KO’s) of Tijuana, Mexico talked to the media and also took part in the workout festivities Sunday afternoon at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles for his upcoming bout.
Munguia will take on Brandon Cook (20-1, 13 KOs) of Toronto, Canada in the co-feature bout to the anticipated rematch between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin live on HBO Pay Per View.Here is what the champ had to say:
“It’s a big opportunity for me to be on this card. It’s a special date for Mexican people. I’m really excited to be on this card. (Cook) is a fighter with lots of experience but I have my plan to come out victorious.”
“I am young. 21 years old. I definitely need improvement. Time will give me that experience. We have had a good camp. After the last fight, I went straight back to the gym. Right now my focus is Brandon Cook.”
