Tyson Fury has message to Deontay Wilder: “I’m coming for you”

Boxingnews24.com

By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury has a harsh message to WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder on Labor day, saying that he’s going to rip his heart out when they face each other. The Wilder vs. Fury fight still isn’t a done deal, but they’re supposed to be fighting on November 10. There’s still no date, venue, kickoff press conference or signed contract.

That fight is supposed to take place in a little of 2 months from now. We’re talking LESS than 10 weeks to go before November 10. There’s not going to be much time to market the fight if it doesn’t get officially announced with a date and a venue soon.

If I doesn’t happen, it will have been a waste of time. Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn might not be unhappy at seeing the Wilder-Fury fight fail to take place, because it would mean more attention would be focused on Joshua’s next fight against 39-year-old Alexander Povetkin on September 22. It’ll also keep Wilder in a position where he’ll not have leverage to ask for a bigger cut of the revenue for a fight with Joshua in 2019. If Wilder beat Fury, he can ask for 50 percent of the financial pie against Joshua for April 13 and have a better chance of getting it.

“I’m coming for you, Wilder. I’m going to rip your heart out and feed it to you on a plate,” Fury said.

Fury has had problems taking right hands during his career. Deontay arguably has the best right hand in the heavyweight division, which is bad news for Fury en/if the two of them ever face each other.

If the fight doesn’t take place, it’s going to make Fury look awfully bad. Wilder want the fight with Fury, but we’ll have to see if the feeling is mutual. Fury would be a huge underdog against Wilder, and that makes it more likely that he’ll be the one that bails if he gets cold feet.

Amid talk by Eddie Hearn and Dan Rafael that the Fury-Wilder fight won’t be happening, Fury recently took to social media to say that the fight with Deontay is absolutely happening. However, there still isn’t a date and there a lot of boxing fans that starting to wonder if this bout will in fact ever take place. Fury is training for a fight that may not ever happen. Some believe that would be a good thing for Fury, because he doesn’t stand much of a chance of beating Wilder right now. Heck, even if the fight had taken place in the height of Fury’s career in 2015, he would have been asking trouble.
