A strawweight bout between Claudia Gadelha and Nina Ansaroff was officially announced for UFC 231 on Wednesday. The pay-per-view card is scheduled to take place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, on Dec. 8.
The promotion has yet to officially announce a main event for UFC 231.
Gadelha (16-3), who once challenged for the UFC’s 115-pound belt, is coming off a decision victory over longtime rival Carla Esparza in June. The Brazilian strawweight scored wins over the likes ofKarolina Kowalkiewicz, Valerie Letourneau, Cortney Casey and Jessica Aguilar throughout her MMA career.
Ansaroff (9-5) enters the Octagon riding a three-fight winning streak over Randa Markos, Angela Hill and Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger. Competing for the first time since her engagement with UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, Ansaroff has the chance to break into the top 10 of the division with a win in Canada.
