Stefan Struve was set to take on the streaking Ruslan Magomedov at UFC 204 in Manchester. Unfortunately due to a staph infection, Magomedov was forced out of the bout. Now, Struve has a new opponent – Daniel Omielanczuk.
MMA Junkie reported the new fight earlier today.
Omielanczuk (19-5-1, 1 NC, 3-2 UFC) got off to a rocky start in the promotion, dropping his first two bouts to Jared Rosholt and Anthony Hamilton. He rebounded well though, picking up wins over Chris De La Rocha, Jarjis Danho, and most recently Oleksiy Oliynyk in July. This will be the fifth time in six bouts that the Polish national has competed on a UFC European card.
Struve (27-8, 11-6 UFC) scored a huge 16-second TKO win over Antonio Silva in his last bout in May. He’s 2-2 since his long layoff due to a heart issue.
UFC 204 will be headlined by a UFC middleweight title fight between Michael Bisping andDan Henderson. The card goes down October 8th in the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
