WBO #1, WBA #8 light heavyweight Dominic Boesel 23-8, 8 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over Tony Averlant (24-9-2, 4 KOs) on Saturday night at the Stathalle in Weissenfels, Germany. Fighting before a sold out local crowd, Boesel won by scores of 117-111, 118-111 and 116-112, while defending two Intercontinental titles.
Next up for Boesel could be the Kovalev-Ward winner, a huge step up.
In the co-feature, jr welterweight Felix Lamm (13-1-1, 5 KOs) won a controversial ten round split decision over Andrea Carbonello (13-2-1, 2 KOs) in a bout for the WBO Europa title. Scores were 96-95, 96-94 for Lamm, 96-95 for Carbonello.
