Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, the top super middleweight to not appear in the World Boxing Super Series tournament, could once again face his toughest challenger to date in the coming months.
The two first fought in September of last year, with Ramirez (38-0, 25 KO) dropping Hart (25-1, 21 KO) in the second round en route to a competitive, entertaining decision victory. Since then, Ramirez has defeated Habib Ahmed and Roamer Alexis Angulo, while Hart has scored three knockouts to reclaim the top spot in the WBO rankings.
While it would be nice to see Zurdo look to unify against the likes of Callum Smith or Jose Uzcategui, this isn’t too shabby as far as rematches go. Add a solid co-feature to it and you’ve got yourself a fine little Friday night show.
