The UFC’s final show of 2018 — I guess you could say the final UFC show of the FOX era before they run most of their programming through ESPN — is steadily taking shape into something special. In the main event, Jon Jones returns from his USADA suspension to take on Alexander Gustafsson for what will be the vacant light heavyweight title. Jones defended his title vs. Gustafsson at UFC 165 in an instant classic, and five years later, we’re inching closer to finally seeing the rematch.
As for the co-main event, it’s champion vs. champion. Cris Cyborg puts her women’s featherweight title on the line against women’s bantamweight queen Amanda Nunes. It’s also the first all-Brazilian UFC title fight since Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort at UFC 126. Also of note is Michael Chiesa’s welterweight debut against Carlos Condit, as well as Ilir Latifi taking on Corey Anderson in what is obviously the real main event of the evening.
UFC 232 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, December 29th. Here are the fights that are currently lined up for this card:
Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson
Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes
Carlos Condit vs. Michael Chiesa
Megan Anderson vs. Cat Zingano
Ilir Latifi vs. Corey Anderson
B.J. Penn vs. Ryan Hall
