Guillermo Rigondeaux, out of action since a disastrous fight with Vasyl Lomachenko last December and not far removed from his 38th birthday, isn’t done quite yet. The Ring reports that “El Chacal” has followed Manny Pacquiao’s lead and signed on with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, with whom he’ll return to super bantamweight.

The Cuban could return as soon as December 1st as part of the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury undercard.

Rigondeaux (17-1, 11 KO) is technically winless since 2016, as a 2017 victory over Moises Flores was overturned due to a shot after the bell. He went up two weight classes to fight Lomachenko, who is nearly a decade younger than him, and could theoretically still be a force at 122 if he can mentally recover from that fight.

As far as a path back to the title, Danny Roman currently holds the WBA belt, and Rigondeaux had the “Super” title before being stripped. Whichever way he goes, though, there’s a fresh crop of dangerous young fighters waiting for him. Anyone think he’s got one last run left in him?
