Joe Duffy has suffered an injury that has forced him out of his lightweight bout at UFC Adelaide on Dec. 1.

MMA Fighting confirmed the withdrawal with sources following an initial report by FloCombatthat stated the Irishman had suffered a rib injury ahead of the Australian event.

Duffy (16-3-0) was initially slated to meet Ross Pearson in an all-European affair, but an injury forced the Englishman out of the running earlier this month. According to the FloCombat report, the UFC arranged for M-1 Global champion, Damir Ismagulov (16-2-0), to replace “The Real Deal”. It is unknown whether Ismagulov will remain on the card in light of Duffy’s injury.

The Irish lightweight has not competed since a knockout loss to James Vick in November of last year. He has collected a record of 4-2 in the Octagon since his UFC signing, with his most recent victory coming against Reza Madadi at UFC London in March 2017.
