An undisclosed injury has ruled former KSW welterweight champion Borys Mankowski out of his bout with Bruno Souto at KSW 46 on Dec. 1 in Gliwice, Poland.
The welterweight bout has subsequently been scrapped from the card with a new 80-kilogram (176 pounds) catchweight bout taking its place, which pits current welterweight champion Roberto Soldic against Brazilian newcomer, Vinicius Bohrer.
KSW confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Monday.
Soldic (14-3-0) is considered one of the outstanding prospects in European MMA. In his last outing he avenged his loss to Dricus Du Plessis with a third round TKO win, reclaiming the welterweight title he lost to the South African six months before.
“Robocop” won the welterweight title when he forced Mankowski to retire on his stool after three rounds at KSW 41.
Bohrer (16-6-0) has claimed all but three of his wins by submission. He is currently on a two-fight win streak and has never contested a bout outside of Brazil. He holds a first round submission win over Souto—the Brazilian who was initially slated to face Mankowski at the Gliwice event.
