Ricardo Ramos will get to fight on home soil for the first time as a UFC fighter on Feb. 2, as he takes on Said Nurmagomedov in a bantamweight bout at UFC Fortaleza in Brazil. The match-up was first reported by Akhmat MMA.
Ramos (12-1) has won three in a row since joining the UFC in 2017, including a bonus-winning spinning back elbow knockout over Alemann Zahabi at UFC 217. In his other fights, “Carcacinha” scored decisions over Michinori Tanaka and Kyung Ho Kang.
The Brazilian was expected to face Ricky Simon in November, but was pulled from the fight due to a hand injury.
Nurmagomedov (12-1) will move up to bantamweight after defeating flyweight Justin Scoggins via split decision in his UFC debut in July. Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin signed with the promotion after winning five in row in Russia and Kazakhstan, with four of those victories coming against Brazilians.
