Paul Redmond will make his return to the Bellator cage on Feb. 23 on the undercard of the recently announced Bellator 218 card in Dublin, Ireland when he takes on England’s Charlie Learyat 3 Arena.
Bellator confirmed the lightweight fight to MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
Redmond (14-7-0) recently had a three-fight win streak snapped by a knockout loss to Polish prospect Gracjan Szadzinski. In his last outing prior to that, he claimed a win in his Bellator debut against Sergio de Jesus Santos. The Team Ryano submission specialist holds wins over noted European fighters such as Lewis Long, Philip Mulpeter and former BAMMA champion Rob Sinclair.
In his last fight, Leary (15-9-1) claimed a second-round stoppage in his promotional debut againstTom Green when they clashed at Bellator 200 in London, England. A former FCC lightweight champion, Leary also holds a win over former BAMMA champion, Sinclair. Eleven of Leary’s 15 career wins come by way of stoppage.
