Tonight the first Annual Vieques Amateur Invitational, on the island of Vieques, off the coast of San Juan, PR.
Thanks to WBC Cares Ambassador, Mercedes Vasquez Simmons and Pretty Girl Promotions, 20 bouts, displaying the talents of young fighters from Puerto Rico and Canada are set to thrill.
The WBC, in appreciation of her efforts, and in support of the principles of Amateur Boxing and BoxVal, held an open reception for all participants at the Bloc Hotel, where many WBC Champions like Iran Barkley, Junior Jones, John Molina, Juan La Porte, Daniel Pipino Alices, Abner Di Silva and promoters Freddy Perez Matias and Peter Fuentes celebrated the upcoming event.
The WBC, and its President Mauricio Sulaiman praise Mercedes for her determination and her loyalty to the WBC. She has been a strong and humanitarian asset to the boxing world and Puerto Rico. We are so proud she’s with us!
