The British Boxing Board of Control have made it clear that they won’t put up with any pre-fight antics between heavyweight rivals Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora.
The two fighters are set to meet in a heavyweight grudge match this weekend, with a final press conference set for Thursday, but officials don’t want things to get unhinged like they did in the pressers leading into to their first fight in December 2016, when Chisora hurled a lobbed a table in Whyte’s direction.
Robert Smith, the General Secretary for the BBBoC, had this to say to Sky Sports on the subject:
“They are fully aware what we expect already.
“They are all very aware what we require.”
Smith also added that there would be ‘strict action’ taken against the fighters should Whyte or Chisora breach their code on conduct. Manners maketh man, as they saying goes, but it could be difficult to sell a grudge match when you temper the grudge.
Oh well, should be a fun fight anyway.
