Amanda Nunes believes her mind is at the right place as she approaches her super fight against the larger, heavier, UFC women’s featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg.

However, in an interview with Combate, the ‘Lioness’ explains she feels no nerves as the night of UFC 232 closes in.

According to the current women’s bantamweight champ, her calmness comes from the state of mind she got herself into, a ‘champion mindset’ which Nunes believes to be pivotal in order to face Cyborg as an equal and not be intimidated, unlike all of Cris’ previous opponents.

“I have something that makes me different from all the others: ‘champion mindset,” Nunes said. “I think exactly like Cris does. That’s the difference. It’s going to be champ vs. champ and may the best one win. Speaking of strategy, I must be there to see what she’ll do, so I’ll know what to do. I’ll wait until she shows what she has before I reveal my plan. If I beat, I’ll be the best of all times.”

Amanda Nunes is expected to take on Cris Cyborg at UFC 232, in Inglewood, California, on December 29. The card will be headlined by a fight for the vacant light heavyweight title between former champ Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
